أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ تَخَلَّفَ مِنْ أَصْحَابٍ لَهُ مُحْرِمِينَ، وَهُوَ غَيْرُ مُحْرِمٍ، فَرَأَى حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا، فَاسْتَوَى عَلَى فَرَسِهِ، فَسَأَلَ ⦗١٥١⦘ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يُنَاوِلُوهُ سَوْطَهُ، فَأَبَوْا فَسَأَلَهُمْ أَنْ يُنَاوِلُوهُ رُمْحَهُ، فَأَبَوْا، فَأَخَذَهُ ثُمَّ شَدَّ عَلَى الْحِمَارِ فَقَتَلَهُ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَبَى بَعْضُهُمْ، فَلَمَّا أَدْرَكُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا هِيَ طُعْمَةٌ أَطْعَمَكُمُوهَا اللَّهُ "

Malik informed us, Abu al-Nadr, the freed slave of Umar ibn 'Ubayd Allah, informed us, from Nafi', the freed slave of Abu Qatadah, from Abu Qatadah, that he was with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), until when they were at a certain point on the road, he stayed behind some companions of his who were in the state of Ihram, while he was not in the state of Ihram. He saw a wild donkey, so he mounted his horse and asked his companions to hand him his whip, but they refused. He then asked them to hand him his spear, but they refused. So he took it himself, then charged at the donkey and killed it. Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) ate from it, while others refused. When they caught up with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), they asked him about that, and he said: "It is only a provision that Allah has fed you."
Na njoftoi Maliku, na njoftoi Ebu en-Nedri, mualai i Omer bin Ubejdullahut, nga Nafiu, mualai i Ebu Katades, nga Ebu Katadeja, se ai kishte qenë me të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.), derisa kur ishin në një pjesë të rrugës, ai mbeti prapa me disa shokë të tij që ishin muhrimë (në gjendje ihrami), ndërsa ai vetë nuk ishte muhrim. Ai pa një gomar të egër, kështu që hipi mbi kalin e tij dhe u kërkoi shokëve të tij t'ia jepnin kamxhikun, por ata refuzuan. Pastaj u kërkoi t'ia jepnin shtizën, por ata përsëri refuzuan. Atëherë ai e mori vetë, u lëshua drejt gomarit dhe e vrau atë. Disa nga shokët e të Dërguarit të Allahut (s.a.v.s.) hëngrën prej tij, ndërsa disa të tjerë refuzuan. Kur e arritën të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.), ata e pyetën atë për këtë veprim, e ai tha: "Kjo është vetëm një ushqim që Allahu ua ka dhënë juve."
