1299 - Na ka treguar Junusi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Verka, nga Mensuri, nga Hilal bin Jesafi, nga Halid bin Arfexhe el-Eshxhei, i cili ka thënë: «Ata po udhëtonin me Salim bin Ubejd el-Eshxhein, kur një burrë teshtiu dhe tha: Es-selamu alejkum! Salimi i tha: Edhe mbi ty dhe mbi nënën tënde! Pastaj eci një copë herë dhe i tha burrit: Ndoshta të erdhi keq për atë që të thashë? Ai tha: Do të dëshiroja që të mos e përmendje nënën time as për mirë e as për keq! Salimi tha: Unë vetëm po të tregoj atë që kam dëshmuar nga i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.); një burrë teshtiu pranë tij dhe tha: Es-selamu alejkum! I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) i tha: Edhe mbi ty dhe mbi nënën tënde. Kur ndonjëri prej jush teshtin, le të thotë: El-hamdu lillahi Rabbil-alemin (Lavdërimi i takon Allahut, Zotit të botëve), ose El-hamdu lillahi ala kuli hal (Lavdërimi i takon Allahut në çdo gjendje), ndërsa vëllai i tij le t'i thotë: Jerhamukallah (Allahu të mëshiroftë), e ai (teshtitësi) le të thotë: Jegfirullahu li ve lekum (Allahu më falë mua dhe juve)».

- حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ:
حَدَّثَنَا وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ
خَالِدِ بْنِ عَرْفَجَةَ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، قَالَ: «كَانُوا يَسِيرُونَ
مَعَ سَالِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ فَعَطَسَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ:
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ! فَقَالَ سَالِمٌ: وَعَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أُمِّكَ!
ثُمَّ سَارَ سَاعَةً، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلرَّجُلِ: لَعَلَّكَ كَرِهْتَ مَا
قُلْتُ لَكَ؟ قَالَ: وَدِدْتُ أَنَّكَ لَمْ تَكُنْ ذَكَرْتَ أُمِّي
بِخَيْرٍ وَلَا شَرٍّ! فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا أُحَدِّثُكَ مَا شَهِدْتُ مِنْ
رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؛ عَطَسَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ!
فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: وَعَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أُمِّكَ، إِذَا عَطَسَ
أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَقُلِ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، أَوِ
الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ، وَلْيَقُلْ لَهُ أَخُوهُ: يَرْحَمُكَ
اللهُ، وَلْيَقُلْ هُوَ: يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لِي وَلَكُمْ».
1299 - Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Warqa' narrated to us, from Mansur, from Hilal ibn Yasaf, from Khalid ibn 'Arfajah al-Ashja'i, who said: "They were traveling with Salim ibn 'Ubayd al-Ashja'i when a man sneezed and said: 'Peace be upon you (As-Salamu 'alaykum)!' Salim replied: 'And upon you and upon your mother!' Then he traveled for a while, then he said to the man: 'Perhaps you disliked what I said to you?' The man replied: 'I wished that you had not mentioned my mother for good or for bad!' Salim said: 'I am only telling you what I witnessed from the Messenger of Allah (saw); a man sneezed in his presence and said: "Peace be upon you!" So the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "And upon you and upon your mother. When one of you sneezes, let him say: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds (Al-Hamdu lillahi Rabbil-'alamin), or: Praise be to Allah in every condition (Al-Hamdu lillahi 'ala kulli hal), and let his brother say to him: May Allah have mercy on you (Yarhamukallah), and let him reply: May Allah forgive me and you (Yaghfirullahu li wa lakum)."'"
