1399 - Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, Abu Ishaq informed us, he said: I heard Abu al-Ahwas saying: My father came to the Prophet (saw) - and he sometimes said: from his father - 'that he came to the Prophet (saw) and he saw him in a disheveled state. He said: Do you have any wealth? I said: Yes. He said: From what kind of wealth? I said: From all kinds of wealth; from camels, slaves, horses, and sheep. He said: If Allah gives you wealth, then let the effect of it be seen on you. Then he said: Do your family's camels give birth with sound ears, then you take a blade and cut their ears and say: These are Bahur, and you slit them or slit their skins and say: These are Surum, and you forbid them for yourself and your family? For all the wealth Allah has given you is lawful for you.'
Shu'bah said: He would say this sometimes, and sometimes he would not say it: 'And the blade of Allah is sharper than your blade, and the forearm of Allah is stronger than your forearms,' and he sometimes said: 'And the blade of Allah is sharper, and the forearm of Allah is stronger.'
