1265 - Na ka treguar Junusi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Shube, nga Ebu Bishri, nga Abbad bin Shurahbil, i cili ka thënë: «Erdha në Medine dhe më kishte goditur një uri e madhe. Hyra në një kopsht, mora disa kalli gruri, hëngra prej tyre dhe futa disa në rrobën time. Erdhi pronari i kopshtit, më goditi dhe më mori atë që kisha në rrobë. Ai tha: Shkuam te Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) dhe ia treguam këtë gjë. Atëherë i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) i tha: 'Nuk e mësove kur ishte i paditur, as nuk e ushqeve kur ishte i uritur!' Pastaj urdhëroi që të më jepet gjysmë vesku me elb.»

- حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ:
حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ
، قَالَ: «قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ وَقَدْ أَصَابَنِي جُوعٌ شَدِيدٌ،
فَدَخَلْتُ حَائِطًا فَأَخَذْتُ سُنْبُلًا فَأَكَلْتُ مِنْهُ وَجَعَلْتُ
فِي ثَوْبِي، فَجَاءَ صَاحِبُ الْحَائِطِ فَضَرَبَنِي وَأَخَذَ مَا فِي
ثَوْبِي، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - ﷺ - فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ
لَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَا عَلَّمْتَهُ إِذْ كَانَ جَاهِلًا،
وَلَا أَطْعَمْتَهُ إِذْ كَانَ سَاغِبًا، فَأَمَرَ لِي بِنِصْفِ وَسْقٍ
مِنْ شَعِيرٍ».
1265 - Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from 'Abbad bin Shurahbil, who said: "I came to Madinah and I was afflicted by severe hunger. So I entered an orchard and took some ears of grain, ate from them, and put some in my garment. Then the owner of the orchard came, beat me, and took what was in my garment.
He said: So we went to the Prophet (pbuh) and mentioned that to him. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: 'You did not teach him when he was ignorant, nor did you feed him when he was hungry.' Then he ordered half a wasq of barley for me."
