- وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: «يَا
رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عُطَارِدًا التَّمِيمِيَّ كَانَ يُقِيمُ حُلَّةَ
حَرِيرٍ، فَلَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَهَا فَلَبِسْتَهَا إِذَا جَاءَكَ وُفُودُ
النَّاسِ؟ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ الْحَرِيرَ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ»
".
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ بِنَحْوِهِ وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ ثِقَاتٌ.

8638 - And on the authority of Abu Hurairah that Umar ibn al-Khattab said: "O Messenger of Allah, Utarid al-Tamimi was offering for sale a silk suit; would you buy it and wear it when delegations of people come to you?" He (pbuh) said: "Indeed, silk is only worn by he who has no share [in the Hereafter]."

- Dhe nga Ebu Hurejre transmetohet se Omer ibn el-Hattabi ka thënë: «O i Dërguari i Allahut, Utarid et-Temimi po ofronte për shitje një rrobë mëndafshi. Sikur ta blije atë dhe ta vishje kur të vijnë delegacionet e njerëzve?» Ai (s.a.v.s.) tha: "Mëndafshin e vesh vetëm ai që nuk ka pjesë (në botën tjetër)."
E transmeton Ahmedi dhe el-Bezzari në mënyrë të ngjashme, dhe transmetuesit e Ahmedit janë të besueshëm.
