- وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: «انْتَهَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ
إِلَى أَبِي جَهْلِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَهُوَ رَقِيدٌ فَاسْتَلَّ سَيْفَهُ
فَضَرَبَ عُنُقَهُ فَنَدَرَ رَأْسَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ سَلَبَهُ فَأَتَى
النَّبِيَّ - ﷺ - فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ قَتَلَ أَبَا جَهْلٍ
فَاسْتَحْلَفَهُ بِاللَّهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَحَلَفَ فَجَعَلَ لَهُ
سَلَبَهُ».
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي
إِسْحَاقَ أَبُو إِسْرَائِيلَ الْمُلَائِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَقَالَ
أَحْمَدُ: يُكْتَبُ حَدِيثُهُ.

9700 - And on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: "Abdullah ibn Mas'ud reached Abu Jahl on the day of Badr while he was lying prone, so he unsheathed his sword and struck his neck, and his head rolled away. Then he took his spoils and came to the Prophet (pbuh) and informed him that he had killed Abu Jahl. He (the Prophet) made him swear by Allah three times, and he swore, so he granted him his spoils."
9700 - Dhe nga Ibn Abbasi transmetohet se ka thënë: «Abdullah bin Mes'udi arriti tek Ebu Xhehli në ditën e Bedrit ndërsa ai ishte i shtrirë, kështu që nxori shpatën e tij dhe ia goditi qafën, duke ia prerë kokën. Pastaj mori plaçkën e tij dhe erdhi te Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) dhe e njoftoi atë se e kishte vrarë Ebu Xhehlin. Ai (Pejgamberi) e bëri atë të betohej në Allahun tri herë, dhe ai u betua, kështu që ia dha atij plaçkën e tij.»
E ka transmetuar Taberaniu dhe në të është Ismail bin Ebi Is'hak Ebu Israil el-Mula'i, i cili është i dobët, por Ahmedi ka thënë: «Hadithi i tij shkruhet.»
