- عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ قَالَ: «كَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ غَنْمٍ فِي
مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - ﷺ - فِيهِمْ
مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ غَنْمٍ: يَا
أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمُ الشِّرْكُ
الْخَفِيُّ، فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ: اللَّهُمَّ غَفْرًا، فَقَالَ: يَا مُعَاذُ،
أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - ﷺ - يَقُولُ: " مَنْ صَامَ رِيَاءً
فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ، وَمَنْ تَصَدَّقَ رِيَاءً فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ، وَمَنْ صَلَّى
رِيَاءً فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ "؟. قَالَ: بَلَى، وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - ﷺ
- تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ ﴿فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ﴾ [الكهف:
١١٠]- الْآيَةَ. فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ وَاشْتَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ،
فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُفَرِّجُهَا عَنْكُمْ؟ قَالُوا: بَلَى، فَرَّجَ اللَّهُ
عَنْكَ الْهَمَّ وَالْأَذَى، فَقَالَ: هِيَ مِثْلُ الْآيَةِ الَّتِي فِي
الرُّومِ وَمَا آتَيْتُمْ مِنْ رِبًا لِيَرْبُوَ فِي أَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ
فَلَا يَرْبُو عِنْدَ اللَّهِ - الْآيَةَ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا رِيَاءً لَمْ
يُكْتَبْ لَا لَهُ وَلَا عَلَيْهِ».
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ الْكَلْبِيُّ وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ.

11154 - On the authority of Abu Salih, who said: Abd al-Rahman bin Ghanm was in the mosque of Damascus among a group of the companions of the Prophet (pbuh), including Mu'adh bin Jabal. Abd al-Rahman bin Ghanm said: "O people, indeed, the thing I fear most for you is hidden polytheism (shirk)." Mu'adh said: "O Allah, grant forgiveness." Abd al-Rahman said: "O Mu'adh, did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say: 'Whoever fasts to be seen has committed shirk, whoever gives charity to be seen has committed shirk, and whoever prays to be seen has committed shirk'?" He replied: "Yes, but the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) recited this verse: {So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord} [Al-Kahf: 110]—the verse." This was distressing for the people and weighed heavily upon them, so he said: "Shall I not relieve you of this [distress]?" They said: "Yes, may Allah relieve you of worry and harm." He said: "It is like the verse in Surah Ar-Rum: {And whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah} [Ar-Rum: 39]—the verse. Whoever performs a deed to be seen, it is recorded neither for him nor against him."

- Nga Ebi Salih ka thënë: «Abdurrahman bin Ganm ishte në xhaminë e Damaskut me një grup nga shokët e Pejgamberit (s.a.v.s.), në mesin e të cilëve ishte Muadh bin Xhebeli. Abdurrahman bin Ganm tha: O ju njerëz, vërtet gjëja më e frikshme që kam frikë për ju është shirku i fshehtë. Atëherë Muadhi tha: O Allah, kërkoj falje! Ai tha: O Muadh, a nuk e ke dëgjuar të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.) duke thënë: "Kush agjëron për sy e faqe, ai ka bërë shirk; kush jep sadaka për sy e faqe, ai ka bërë shirk; dhe kush falet për sy e faqe, ai ka bërë shirk"?. Ai tha: Po, por i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) lexoi këtë ajet: ﴿Kush shpreson takimin me Zotin e vet...﴾ [el-Kehf: 110] - deri në fund të ajetit. Kjo u erdhi rëndë njerëzve dhe u vështirësua mbi ta, atëherë ai tha: A t'ua lehtësoj këtë? Ata thanë: Po, Allahu ta largoftë brengën dhe mundimin! Ai tha: Ajo është si ajeti që është në suren er-Rum: ﴿Dhe çfarëdo që të jepni nga kamata për t'u rritur në pasurinë e njerëzve, ajo nuk rritet te Allahu...﴾ - deri në fund të ajetit; kush bën një vepër për sy e faqe, ajo nuk i shkruhet as në favor të tij e as kundër tij».
