#12526 12526 - And from Asma' bint Yazid al-Ansariyyah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was in my house and mentioned the Dajjal, saying: "Indeed, preceding him are three years: in the first, the sky will withhold a third of its rain and the earth a third of its vegetation; in the second, the sky will withhold two-thirds of its rain and the earth two-thirds of its vegetation; and in the third, the sky will withhold all of its rain and the earth all of its vegetation. Not a single cloven-hoofed or molar-toothed beast shall remain among the livestock but that it perishes. Indeed, among the most severe of his trials is that he will come to a Bedouin and say: 'Do you see that if I were to bring your camels back to life for you, would you not then know that I am your Lord?'" He said: "The Bedouin will say: 'Yes.' Then the devils will take the form of his camels, appearing with the finest udders and the largest humps they ever had." He said: "And he will come to a man whose father and brother have died, saying: 'Do you see that if I were to bring your father and brother back to life for you, would you not then know that I am your Lord?' The man will say: 'Yes.' Then the devils will take the form of his father and his brother." Then the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) went out for some need of his and then returned. She said: "And the people were in a state of concern and grief because of what he had told them." She said: "He took hold of the two sides of the doorframe and said: 'What is the matter, O Asma'?'" She said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you have torn our hearts out with your mention of the Dajjal.'" He said: "If he comes forth while I am alive, then I am his antagonist; otherwise, my Lord—Mighty and Majestic is He—is my successor over every believer." Asma' said: "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, we knead our dough and do not even finish baking it before we are hungry; so how will it be for the believers on that day?" He said: "That which suffices the inhabitants of heaven—of glorification and sanctification—will suffice them."
