- وَعَنْ قَنْبَرَ حَاجِبٍ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يُغْلِظُ
لِمُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ: فَشَكَاهُ إِلَى عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ وَإِلَى
أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ وَإِلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ وَإِلَى أُمِّ حَرَامٍ
فَقَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ صَحِبْتُمْ كَمَا صَحِبْتُ، وَرَأَيْتُمْ كَمَا
رَأَيْتُ، فَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمْ أَنْ تُكَلِّمُوهُ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى
أَبِي ذَرٍّ فَجَاءَ، فَكَلَّمُوهُ فَقَالَ: أَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا
الْوَلِيدِ، فَقَدْ أَسْلَمْتَ قَبْلِي وَلَكَ السِّنُّ
وَالْفَضْلُ
عَلَيَّ، وَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَرْغَبُ بِكَ عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذَا الْمَجْلِسِ،
وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ، فَإِنْ كَادَتْ وَفَاةُ رَسُولِ
اللَّهِ - ﷺ - لَتَفُوتُكَ، ثُمَّ أَسْلَمْتَ، فَكُنْتَ مِنْ صَالِحِي
الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا عَمْرُو، فَقَدْ جَاهَدْتَ مَعَ
رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - ﷺ - وَأَمَّا أَنْتِ يَا أُمَّ حَرَامٍ، فَإِنَّمَا
أَنْتِ امْرَأَةٌ، وَعَقْلُكِ عَقْلُ امْرَأَةٍ، فَمَا أَنْتِ وَذَاكَ؟
فَقَالَ عُبَادَةُ: لَا جَرَمَ لَا جَلَسْتُ مِثْلَ هَذَا الْمَجْلِسِ
أَبَدًا.
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ، وَفِيهِ قَنْبَرُ حَاجِبُ مُعَاوِيَةَ
ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ وَلَمْ يُوَثِّقْهُ (وَلَمْ يَجْرَحْهُ)،
وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ.

13084 - And on the authority of Qanbar, the chamberlain of Mu'awiyah, who said: Abu Dharr used to be harsh with Mu'awiyah. He said: So he [Mu'awiyah] complained about him to 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, to Abu al-Darda, to 'Amr ibn al-'As, and to Umm Haram, saying: "Indeed, you were companions just as I was a companion, and you saw just as I saw. If you see fit, you should speak to him." Then he sent for Abu Dharr and he came, so they spoke to him. He [Abu Dharr] said: "As for you, O Abu al-Walid, you embraced Islam before me, and you have seniority in age and virtue over me; I would have held you in higher regard than to attend such a gathering. As for you, O Abu al-Darda, the death of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) almost preceded your conversion, then you embraced Islam and became one of the righteous Muslims. As for you, O 'Amr, you fought in Jihad with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). And as for you, O Umm Haram, you are but a woman, and your intellect is the intellect of a woman; what concern have you with this?" Thereupon, 'Ubadah said: "Certainly, I shall never sit in such a gathering again."

- Dhe nga Kanber, roja i Muaviut, ka thënë: Ebu Dherri sillej ashpër me Muaviun. Ai tha: Atëherë ai (Muaviu) u ankua për të te Ubade bin es-Samit, te Ebu Derda, te Amr bin el-As dhe te Umm Haram, duke thënë: Ju keni qenë shokë (të Pejgamberit) ashtu siç isha edhe unë, dhe keni parë ashtu siç kam parë edhe unë, prandaj nëse e shihni të arsyeshme, flisni me të. Pastaj dërgoi njerëz te Ebu Dherri dhe ai erdhi, e ata i folën atij. Ai tha: Sa për ty, o Ebu el-Velid (Ubade), ti ke pranuar Islamin para meje, ke moshën
dhe vlerën mbi mua, dhe unë dëshiroja për ty diçka më të mirë sesa ky lloj tubimi. Sa për ty, o Ebu Derda, vdekja e të Dërguarit të Allahut (s.a.v.s.) pothuajse të iku (pa e takuar shumë), pastaj u bëre musliman dhe ishe nga muslimanët e mirë. Sa për ty, o Amr, ti ke bërë xhihad me të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.). Ndërsa për ty, o Umm Haram, ti je vetëm një grua dhe mendja jote është mendje gruaje, ç'lidhje ke ti me këtë? Atëherë Ubade tha: Pa dyshim, nuk do të ulem kurrë më në një tubim të tillë.
E ka transmetuar Ahmedi, dhe në të është Kanber, roja i Muaviut, të cilin e ka përmendur Ibn Ebi Hatimi por nuk e ka vlerësuar si të besueshëm (dhe as nuk e ka kritikuar), ndërsa pjesa tjetër e burrave të tij janë të besueshëm.
