Hadith #13699 - Majma al-Zawaid - The Compilation of Extra Narrations and the Source of Benefits

١٣٦٩٩ - وَعَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: «جِيءَ بِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - ﷺ - جَاءَ بِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ وَزُهَيْرٌ، فَجَعَلُوا يُثْنُونَ عَلَيَّ عِنْدَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - ﷺ -: " لَا تُعْلِمُونِي بِهِ، قَدْ كَانَ صَاحِبِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ". قَالَ: قَالَ: نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَنِعْمَ الصَّاحِبُ كُنْتَ. قَالَ: فَقَالَ: " يَا سَائِبُ، انْظُرْ أَخْلَاقَكَ الَّتِي كُنْتَ تَصْنَعُهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَاصْنَعْهَا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ: أَقْرِ الضَّيْفَ، وَأَكْرِمِ الْيَتِيمَ، وَأَحْسِنْ إِلَى جَارِكَ» ". قُلْتُ: رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ بِاخْتِصَارٍ.
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ.

#13699 13699 - And on the authority of Al-Sa'ib bin Abdullah, who said: "I was brought to the Prophet (pbuh); Uthman bin Affan and Zuhayr brought me, and they began to praise me in his presence. So the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said to them: 'Do not inform me about him; he was my companion during the Pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah).' He said: He [Al-Sa'ib] said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah, and what an excellent companion you were.' He said: So he [the Prophet] said: 'O Sa'ib, look to your character traits that you used to practice during the Pre-Islamic period and practice them in Islam: provide hospitality to the guest, honor the orphan, and be kind to your neighbor.'"

- Dhe nga es-Saib bin Abdilah ka thënë: «Më sollën te Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) - më solli Uthman bin Affani dhe Zuhejri, dhe filluan të më lëvdonin tek ai. Atëherë i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) u tha atyre: "Mos më tregoni për të, ai ka qenë shoku im në xhahilijet". Ai (Saibi) tha: Tha: Po, o i Dërguari i Allahut, sa shok i mirë ke qenë. Tha: Atëherë ai tha: "O Saib, shiko moralet e tua që veproje në xhahilijet dhe veproji ato në Islam: prite mikun, ndero jetimin dhe bëhu i mirë me fqinjin tënd"». Thashë: E ka transmetuar Ebu Davudi shkurtimisht.
E ka transmetuar Ahmedi dhe burrat e tij janë burrat e Sahihut.
