#15514 15514 - And on the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said: Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith narrated to me, saying: "While I was passing by and the Prophet (pbuh) was in the Hijr, he said: 'O Umm al-Fadl.' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Indeed, you are pregnant with a boy.' I said: 'How so, when the Quraysh have made a pact not to deliver the children of our women?' He said: 'It is as I am telling you; so when you give birth to him, bring him to me.' When I gave birth to him, I brought him to the Prophet (pbuh), and he named him Abdullah and applied his saliva to his palate. He said: 'Take him, for you shall find him intelligent.' She said: So I went to al-Abbas and informed him, and he smiled. Then he went to the Prophet (pbuh)—and he was a handsome man of tall stature—and when the Prophet (pbuh) saw him, he stood up for him, kissed him between his eyes, and seated him on his right side. Then he said: 'This is my uncle, so whoever wishes, let him boast of his uncle.' Al-Abbas said: 'Lessen your praise, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'And why should I not say so, when you are my uncle and the remnant of my forefathers?! For the uncle is a father.'"
