- وَعَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنِ
الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي مَرَّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - ﷺ - وَهُوَ يُنَاجِي
جِبْرِيلَ - ﵇ - فَزَعَمَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ تَجَنَّبَ أَنْ يَدْنُوَ
مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - ﷺ - تَخَوُّفًا أَنْ يَسْمَعَ حَدِيثَهُ، فَلَمَّا
أَصْبَحَ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - ﷺ -: " «مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ
تُسَلِّمَ إِذْ مَرَرْتَ بِيَ الْبَارِحَةَ» ". فَقَالَ: رَأَيْتُكَ
تَنَاجِي رَجُلًا ; فَخَشِيتُ أَنْ تَكْرَهَ أَنْ أَدْنُوَ مِنْكُمَا
قَالَ: " «فَهَلْ تَدْرِي مَنِ الرَّجُلِ؟» ". قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: "
«جِبْرِيلُ - ﷺ - وَلَوْ سَلَّمْتَ لَرَدَّ السَّلَامَ» ". وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ
مِنْ غَيْرِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ حَارِثَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ.
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ.

And from Musa ibn 'Uqbah, who said: Abu Salamah narrated to me on the authority of the man who passed by the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) while he was conversing privately with Jibril (pbuh). Abu Salamah claimed that the man avoided drawing near to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) out of fear that he might overhear his conversation. When it was morning, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said to him: "What prevented you from offering the greeting of peace when you passed by me last night?" He replied: "I saw you conversing privately with a man, so I feared that you would dislike my drawing near to you both." He (the Prophet) asked: "Do you know who that man was?" He replied: "No." He said: "That was Jibril (pbuh); and had you offered the greeting of peace, he would have returned the greeting." And I have heard from someone other than Abu Salamah that he was Harithah ibn al-Nu'man.
15740 - Dhe nga Musa bin Ukbe, i cili ka thënë: Më ka treguar Ebu Seleme, nga njeriu i cili kaloi pranë të Dërguarit të Allahut (s.a.v.s.) ndërkohë që ai po bisedonte fshehurazi me Xhibrilin (a.s.). Ebu Seleme pretendoi se ai u shmang që t'i afrohej të Dërguarit të Allahut (s.a.v.s.) nga frika se mos dëgjonte bisedën e tij. Kur u gdhi, i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) i tha: "Çfarë të pengoi të më përshëndesje kur kalove pranë meje mbrëmë?". Ai tha: Të pashë duke biseduar fshehurazi me një burrë, andaj u frikësova se mos e urreje t'ju afrohesha ju të dyve. Ai tha: "A e di se kush ishte ai burrë?". Tha: Jo. Ai tha: "Ishte Xhibrili (s.a.v.s.), dhe po të kishit dhënë selam, ai do ta kthente selamin". Dhe kam dëgjuar nga dikush tjetër përveç Ebu Selemes se ai ishte Harithe bin en-Nu'man.
