- حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ،
عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ
، «أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ ﵁، أُتِيَ بِالْوَضُوءِ لِصَلَاةِ
الْعَصْرِ وَهُوَ بِالْمَقَاعِدِ، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ: إِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ
أَنْ أُحَدِّثَكُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ مَا ظَنِّي أُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ، فَقَالَ
الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ
خَيْرٌ نَتَّبِعُهُ أَوْ شَرٌّ نَتَّقِيهِ، فَقَالَ: أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
وَهُوَ بِالْمَقَاعِدِ بِالْوَضُوءِ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ
وُضُوءَهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى فَأَتَمَّ رُكُوعَهَا وَسُجُودَهَا، كُفِّرَ
عَنْهُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ الْأُخْرَى مَا لَمْ يَرْكَبْ
مَقْتَلَةً، يَعْنِي: مَا لَمْ يَرْكَبْ كَبِيرَةً».

76 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Humran ibn Aban, "that Uthman ibn Affan (ra) was brought water for ablution for the Asr prayer while he was at the Maqa'id (the benches). Uthman said: 'I have considered telling you a hadith that I did not think I would tell you.' Al-Hakam ibn Abi al-As said: 'O Commander of the Faithful, it is either good that we follow or evil that we avoid.' So he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) was brought water for ablution while he was at the Maqa'id, and he said: Whoever performs ablution and perfects his ablution, then prays and completes its bowing and its prostration, what is between it and the next prayer will be expiated for him, as long as he does not commit a Maqtalah,' meaning: as long as he does not commit a major sin."
76 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Hammad bin Seleme, nga Hisham bin Urve, nga babai i tij, nga Humran bin Eban, «se Osman bin Affanit (r.a.), i sollën ujë për abdest për namazin e ikindisë kur ai ishte te vendulja (el-Makaid). Atëherë Osmani tha: Unë kam menduar t'ju tregoj një hadith, të cilin nuk mendoja se do t'jua tregoja. El-Hekem bin Ebil-As tha: O prijës i besimtarëve, nëse është mirësi ne do ta ndjekim, e nëse është e keqe do t'i ruhemi. Ai tha: Të Dërguarit të Allahut (s.a.v.s.) i sollën ujë për abdest kur ai ishte te vendulja, dhe tha: Kush merr abdest dhe e përsos abdestin e tij, pastaj falet duke plotësuar rukunë dhe sexhden e saj, do t'i falen mëkatet që ka bërë mes tij dhe namazit tjetër, përderisa nuk kryen ndonjë vrasje (mektaleh), domethënë: përderisa nuk kryen ndonjë mëkat të madh».
