#142 142 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Malik bin 'Urfutah, from 'Abd Khayr al-Khaywani, 'that 'Ali (ra) was brought a chair and he sat on it. Then he was brought a jug of water, so he washed his hand three times, then he rinsed his mouth three times along with sniffing water into his nose with a single handful of water. He washed his face three times with one hand, and washed his forearms three times. He placed his hand in the vessel, then wiped his head, and moved his hands forward over his head—and I do not know if he moved them backward or not—and he washed his feet three times. Then he said: "Whoever would be pleased to look at the purification of the Prophet (saw), then this is the purification of the Prophet (saw)."'
