361 - Abu Dawud
(73) narrated to us, Qays narrated to us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, from Abu Ma'mar al-Azdi, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: "Some people sat in the mosque; two Qurashis and a Thaqafi - or two Thaqafis and a Qurashi - and one of them said: 'Do you think Allah hears what we say?' One of them replied: 'If we raise our voices He hears, and if we do not raise them He does not hear.' The other said: 'If He hears any of it, then He hears all of it.' So I went to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and mentioned that to him, then Allah Mighty and Majestic revealed: {And you were not covering yourselves lest your hearing should testify against you...} the verse."

361 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi
(73), na ka treguar Kajsi, nga Mensuri, nga Muxhahidi, nga Ebu Ma'mer el-Ezdiju, nga Ibn Mes'udi, i cili ka thënë: "Disa njerëz u ulën në xhami; dy kurejshë dhe një thekefi - ose dy thekefinj dhe një kurejsh - dhe njëri prej tyre tha: 'A mendoni se Allahu e dëgjon atë që themi?' Njëri prej tyre tha: 'Nëse i ngrisim zërat tanë, Ai dëgjon, e nëse nuk i ngrisim, Ai nuk dëgjon.' Tjetri tha: 'Nëse Ai dëgjon diçka prej saj, atëherë Ai e dëgjon të gjithën.' Atëherë shkova te i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) dhe ia përmenda këtë atij, kështu që Allahu i Madhëruar shpalli: ﴿وَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَتِرُونَ أَنْ يَشْهَدَ عَلَيْكُمْ سَمْعُكُمْ﴾ 'Dhe ju nuk fshiheshit që të mos dëshmonte kundër jush dëgjimi juaj...' deri në fund të ajetit.".
