#376 376 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Al-Sa'q ibn Hazn narrated to us, from 'Aqil al-Ja'di, from Abu Ishaq, from Suwayd ibn Ghaflah, from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "O 'Abdullah, do you know which handhold of Islam is the most trustworthy?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Loyalty for the sake of Allah, love for the sake of Allah, and hatred for the sake of Allah. O 'Abdullah, do you know which of the people is the most knowledgeable?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Indeed, the most knowledgeable of people is the one who is most knowledgeable of the truth when people differ, even if he is deficient in [other] knowledge, and even if he has to crawl on his buttocks."
