#393 393 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Husayn, from 'Abd al-A'la, from Kharijah bin al-Salt, from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, who said: It used to be said: "Indeed, among the signs of the Hour is that mosques will be taken as thoroughfares, that a man will only give greetings of peace to a man based on acquaintance, that a man and his wife will both engage in trade together, and that the dowries of women and the prices of horses will become expensive, then they will become cheap and never be expensive again until the Day of Resurrection."
Abu Dawud said: Shu'bah said: We have not heard 'It used to be said' from Ibn Mas'ud except in this instance.
And al-Thawri narrated this hadith, from Husayn, from 'Abd al-A'la, from al-Salt, who said: I entered the mosque with 'Abdullah, and he bowed (performed ruku'), then a man passed by him while he was bowing and gave him the greeting of peace. 'Abdullah said: Allah and His Messenger (saw) have spoken the truth. When he finished, he said: It used to be said.
