٣٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ لَنَا لَمْ أُدْرِكْهُ، قَالَ: «دَخَلْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَلَى خَبَّابٍ، وَقَدِ اكْتَوَى، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّا قَدْ نُهِينَا عَنْ هَذَا، فَكُرِهَ لَنَا؟ قَالَ خَبَّابٌ: اشْتَدَّ الْبَلَاءُ، فَقَالَتِ الْأَطِبَّاءُ: لَا دَوَاءَ لَكَ إِلَّا ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: مَا كُنْتُ أَخَافُكَ عَلَى هَذَا».
#397 397 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, who said: A shaykh narrated to me, from a shaykh of ours whom I did not meet, who said: "I entered with 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud upon Khabbab, and he had cauterized himself, so 'Abdullah said: 'Did you not know that we have been forbidden from this, and it was disliked for us?' Khabbab said: 'The affliction became severe, and the doctors said: There is no cure for you except that,' so 'Abdullah said: 'I did not fear this for you.'"

397 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, ka thënë: Na ka treguar Shube, nga Amër bin Murre, i cili ka thënë: Më ka treguar një shejh, nga një shejh i yni të cilin nuk e kam arritur, i cili ka thënë: «Hyra bashkë me Abdullah bin Mes'udin te Habbabi, i cili ishte mjekuar me djegie (kauterizim). Abdullahu i tha: 'A nuk e ke ditur se ne jemi ndaluar nga kjo, dhe kjo na është urrejtur?' Habbabi tha: 'Sprova u rëndua, dhe mjekët thanë: Nuk ka ilaç për ty përveç kësaj.' Abdullahu tha: 'Nuk kisha frikë për ty për këtë'».
