400 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: 'Imran al-Qattan narrated to us, from Qatadah, from 'Abd Rabbih, from Abu 'Iyad, from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Beware of the minor sins, for they gather upon a man until they destroy him.' Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (saw) struck a parable for them, like the example of a people who descended upon a desert land, and the time for the people's meal arrived. So a man
(81) would come with a stick, and another man would come with a small stick, until they gathered a large pile from that. Then they kindled a fire, and it cooked what was thrown into it.
