444 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Hisham al-Dastawa'i narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Subay' bin Khalid, who said:
And Hammad bin Zayd, Abu 'Ubayd - 'Abd al-Warith - and Hammad bin Najih narrated to us, all of them from Abu al-Tayyah - Yazid bin Humayd al-Duba'i -, from
(92) Sakhr bin Badr, from Subay' bin Khalid, or Khalid bin Subay', who said: "The prices of animals rose, so we came to Kufa to bring animals from there. I entered the mosque, and there was a man of medium build, with beautiful teeth, recognizable as being from the men of the Hijaz. People were craning their necks towards him. He said: 'Do not rush me, I will narrate to you. We were recently in a period of ignorance (Jahiliyyah), and when Islam came, there was a matter the likes of which I had never seen before. Allah had granted me understanding of the Qur'an. People used to ask the Messenger of Allah (saw) about good, but I used to ask him about evil.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will there be evil after this good, just as there was evil before it?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'What is the protection, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'The sword.' I said: 'Will anything remain after the sword? What will happen after it?' He said: 'There will be a truce upon smoke (hidden corruption).' I said: 'What will happen after the truce?' He said: 'Callers to misguidance. If you see on that day a Caliph of Allah (Azawajal) on earth, then stick to him, even if he strikes your back and takes your wealth. And if you do not see a Caliph, then flee until death overtakes you while you are biting onto the root of a tree.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what will happen after that?' He said: 'The Dajjal.'"

- Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Hishami ed-Destuva'i, nga Katade, nga Subej' bin Halidi, i cili ka thënë:
Dhe na ka treguar Hammad bin Zejdi, dhe Ebu Ubejd - Abduluarithi - dhe Hammad bin Nexhihu, të gjithë nga Ebu et-Tejjahu - Jezid bin Humejd ed-Dub'i -, nga
(92) Sahër bin Bedrit, nga Subej' bin Halidi, ose Halid bin Subej'it, i cili ka thënë: «U shtrenjtuan kafshët, kështu që erdhëm në Kufe për të sjellë kafshë prej andej. Hyra në xhami dhe pashë një burrë me trup mesatar, me dhëmbë të bukur, i cili njihej se ishte nga burrat e Hixhazit. Njerëzit ishin mbledhur rreth tij me kureshtje, ndërsa ai tha: Mos u nxitoni me mua, do t'ju tregoj. Ne ishim në një kohë të afërt me xhahilijetin, e kur erdhi Islami, pashë diçka që nuk e kisha parë kurrë më parë. Allahu më kishte furnizuar me kuptim në Kur'an. Njerëzit e pyetnin të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.) për të mirën, ndërsa unë e pyetja për të keqen. I thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut, a do të ketë pas kësaj të mire ndonjë të keqe, ashtu siç kishte të keqe para saj? Tha: Po. Thashë: E çfarë është mbrojtja, o i Dërguari i Allahut? Tha: Shpata. Thashë: A do të mbetet gjë pas shpatës? Çfarë do të jetë pas saj? Tha: Do të jetë një armëpushim me njollë (trazira). Tha: Thashë: E çfarë do të jetë pas armëpushimit? Tha: Thirrësit e humbjes. Nëse atë ditë sheh në tokë një halife të Allahut të Madhëruar, atëherë bashkangjitu me të, edhe nëse të rreh shpinën dhe ta merr pasurinë. E nëse nuk sheh halife, atëherë ik derisa të të zërë vdekja duke qenë i kapur pas trungut të një peme. Thashë: O i Dërguari i Allahut, po pas kësaj çfarë do të jetë? Tha: Dexhalli».
