٥٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ أَبُو زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، قَالَ: «كَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ لُحْمَتِي، وَكَانَ بَيْتُهُ أَقْصَى بَيْتٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ فِي الْأَشْيَاخِ: مَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الْجِسْرِ أَوْ أَبْعَدُ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَاصِمٌ: فَذَكَرْتُ لِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، فَقَالَ: إِنْ كَانَ أَقْصَى بَيْتٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَهُوَ أَبْعَدُ مِنَ الْجِسْرِ، فَقَالَ فِي آخِرِ ذَلِكَ: إِنَّمَا كُنْتُ أَحْتَسِبُ الْأَثَرَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ».
#553 553 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Thabit Abu Zayd narrated to us, from 'Asim al-Ahwal, from Abu 'Uthman al-Nahdi, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: "There was a man from my kinship, and his house was the furthest house in Madinah."

He said: Abu 'Uthman said while he was narrating among the elders: "The distance between you and the bridge, or even further."

He said: 'Asim said: I mentioned this to Muhammad ibn Sirin, and he said: "If it was the furthest house in Madinah, then it is further than the bridge."

He said at the end of that: "I only seek reward for my footsteps." So the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "You shall have what you sought reward for."

553 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Thabit Ebu Zejdi, nga Asim el-Ahvel, nga Ebu Uthman en-Nehdi, nga Ubejj b. Ka'bi, i cili ka thënë: «Ishte një burrë nga fisi im, shtëpia e të cilit ishte shtëpia më e largët në Medine. Ebu Uthmani tha ndërsa po u tregonte të moshuarve: (Largësia ishte) sa mes teje dhe urës, ose edhe më larg. Asimi tha: Ia përmenda këtë Muhamed b. Sirinit, e ai tha: Nëse ka qenë shtëpia më e largët në Medine, atëherë është më larg se ura. Në fund të kësaj ai (burri) tha: Unë vetëm shpresoja në shpërblimin e hapave (gjurmëve). Atëherë i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) tha: Ti do ta kesh atë që ke shpresuar».
