#672 672 - Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah, from 'Ammar bin Yasir, who said: "A necklace belonging to 'Aishah made of Zafar beads was lost during one of the journeys of the Messenger of Allah (saw), and 'Aishah was with the Messenger of Allah (saw) on that journey. 'Aishah searched for her necklace until the night had passed, then Abu Bakr came and was furious with her, saying: 'You have detained the people in a place where there is no water!' He said: Then the verse of the clean earth (Tayammum) was revealed. So Abu Bakr came and said: 'By Allah, O my little daughter, as far as I have known, you are blessed!' 'Ubaydullah said: And 'Ammar used to narrate that the people on that day began striking the earth with their palms, then wiping their faces with them, then they returned and struck another strike and wiped their hands up to the shoulders and armpits, then they prayed."
