761 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Bara, he said: "The Messenger of Allah (saw) appointed Abdullah bin Jubayr over the archers on the day of Uhud, and they were fifty men. He said to them: 'Stay in your place and do not leave it, even if
(166) you see birds snatching us away.'"
Al-Bara said: "By Allah, I saw the women running away, their anklets visible and their garments tucked up as they ascended the mountain. When the situation turned out as it did and the people were taking the spoils, they (the archers) went forward. Abdullah bin Jubayr, their commander, said: 'What are you doing regarding the command of the Messenger of Allah (saw)?' But they went on, and what happened, happened."
"When night fell, Abu Sufyan bin Harb came and said: 'Is Muhammad among you?' The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Do not answer him.' Then he said: 'Is Muhammad among you?' They did not answer him. "He said it three times, then he said: 'Is the son of al-Khattab among you?' He said it three times and they did not answer him. He said: 'As for these, you have been rid of them.' Umar could not restrain himself and said: 'You have lied, O enemy of Allah! Here is the Messenger of Allah (saw), Abu Bakr, and I, all alive, and you shall have a bad day from us.' He (Abu Sufyan) said: 'A day for the day of Badr, and war is alternating.' And he said: 'Exalt Hubal!' The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Answer him.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what should we say?' He said: 'Say: Allah is More High and More Majestic.' He (Abu Sufyan) said: 'We have al-Uzza and you have no Uzza!' The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Answer him.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what should we say?' He said: 'Say: Allah is our Protector and you have no protector.' Then Abu Sufyan said: 'You will see mutilation among the people; I did not command it, but it did not displease me.'"

El-Berai tha: 'Pasha Allahun, unë i pashë gratë (e mushrikëve) duke ikur sa u dukeshin rrethet e këmbëve (hallkallët) dhe rrobat u ishin ngritur teksa ngjiteshin malit. Kur ndodhi ajo që ndodhi dhe njerëzit (shigjetarët) filluan të merrnin plaçkën e luftës, ata u nisën (të zbrisnin). Abdullah bin Xhubejri, komandanti i tyre, u tha: 'Si po veproni kështu me porosinë e Pejgamberit (s.a.v.s.)?' Por ata vazhduan dhe ndodhi ajo që ndodhi. Kur ra nata, erdhi Ebu Sufjan bin Harbi dhe tha: 'A është Muhamedi mes jush?' Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) tha: 'Mos iu përgjigjni'. Ai tha përsëri: 'A është Muhamedi mes jush?' Ata nuk iu përgjigjën. - E tha këtë tri herë, pastaj tha: 'A është i biri i Hattabit mes jush?' E tha këtë tri herë dhe ata nuk iu përgjigjën. Ai tha: 'Sa u përket këtyre, ju keni shpëtuar prej tyre'. Omeri nuk u përmbajt dot dhe tha: 'Gënjeve, o armik i Allahut! Ja ku është Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.), Ebu Bekri dhe unë, jemi gjallë, dhe ty të pret prej nesh një ditë e keqe'. Ai tha: 'Një ditë për ditën e Bedrit, dhe lufta ka luhatje (herë fiton njëri, herë tjetri)'. Dhe tha: 'Lartësohu, o Hubel!' Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) tha: 'Përgjigjuni!' Ata thanë: 'O Pejgamber i Allahut, çfarë të themi?' Ai tha: 'Thuani: Allahu është më i Larti dhe më i Madhërishmi'. Ai tha: 'Ne kemi Uzzanë, ndërsa ju nuk keni Uzza!' Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) tha: 'Përgjigjuni!' Ata thanë: 'O Pejgamber i Allahut, çfarë të themi?' Ai tha: 'Thuani: Allahu është Mbrojtësi ynë, ndërsa ju nuk keni mbrojtës'. Pastaj Ebu Sufjani tha: 'Do të shihni te njerëzit (e vrarë) gjymtim (masakrim), të cilin unë nuk e urdhërova, por as nuk më erdhi keq'.
