١٠٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَوْفَلِ بْنُ أَبِي عَقْرَبٍ ، قَالَ: «جَزِعَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ جَزَعًا شَدِيدًا، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ: مَا هَذَا الْجَزَعُ وَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ - يَسْتَعْمِلُكَ وَيُدْنِيكَ؟، قَالَ: أَيْ بُنَيَّ، سَأُخْبِرُكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ، فَوَاللهِ مَا أَدْرِي أَحُبًّا كَانَ ذَاكَ أَوْ تَأَلُّفًا كَانَ يَتَأَلَّفُنِي، وَلَكِنْ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَجُلَيْنِ فَارَقَ الدُّنْيَا وَهُوَ يُحِبُّهُمَا: ابْنُ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ، وَابْنُ سُمَيَّةَ».
#1064 1064 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, Al-Aswad bin Shayban narrated to us, Abu Nawfal bin Abi Aqrab narrated to us, he said: "Amr bin al-Aas was in great distress at the time of death, so his son Abdullah said to him: 'What is this distress, when the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to employ you and bring you close?'

He said: 'O my son, I will tell you about that. He used to do that, but by Allah, I do not know if that was out of love or if he was trying to win my heart over. But I bear witness to two men who left this world while he loved them: Ibn Umm 'Abd and Ibn Sumayyah.'"

1064 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, na ka treguar El-Esuad bin Shejban, na ka treguar Ebu Neufel bin Ebi Akreb, i cili ka thënë: «Amr bin el-Asi ndjeu një shqetësim dhe frikë të madhe në prag të vdekjes. Djali i tij, Abdullahu, i tha: Çfarë është ky shqetësim, kur i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) të ngarkonte me detyra dhe të afronte pranë vetes?

Ai tha: O biri im, do të të tregoj për këtë. Ai (Pejgamberi) e bënte këtë, por për Allahun, unë nuk e di nëse kjo ishte për shkak të dashurisë apo ishte një afrim (për t'i zbutur zemrën) që ai bënte me mua. Megjithatë, unë dëshmoj për dy burra që u larguan nga kjo botë ndërkohë që ai (s.a.v.s.) i donte ata: Ibn Umm Abd (Abdullah bin Mesudi) dhe Ibn Sumejje (Ammar bin Jasiri).»
