١٣٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى الطَّائِفِيُّ ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الشَّرِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: «اسْتَنْشَدَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ - مِائَةَ قَافِيَةٍ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ، كُلَّمَا أَنْشَدْتُهُ قَافِيَةً قَالَ: هِيهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنْ كَادَ لَيُسْلِمُ فِي شِعْرِهِ».
#1367 1367 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Abd Allah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Ya'la al-Ta'ifi narrated to us, he said: and Amr bin al-Sharid narrated to me, from his father, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) asked me to recite a hundred verses of the poetry of Umayya bin Abi al-Salt; every time I recited a verse to him, he said: 'Go on,' then the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: 'He almost became a Muslim through his poetry.'"

1367 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Abdullah bin Abdurrahman bin Jala el-Taifi, i cili ka thënë: Dhe më ka treguar Amër bin esh-Sheridi, nga babai i tij, i cili ka thënë: «I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) kërkoi prej meje të recitoja njëqind vargje nga poezia e Umeje bin Ebi es-Saltit. Sa herë që recitoja një varg, ai thoshte: 'Vazhdo'. Pastaj i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) tha: 'Për pak sa nuk u bë musliman përmes poezisë së tij'.»
