٢٠٧٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، وَشَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ «أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ: أَمَّا قَوْلُكَ الَّذِي سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْهُ: أَشَهِدَ عُثْمَانُ بَدْرًا؟ فَإِنَّهُ شُغِلَ بِابْنَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَضَرَبَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِسَهْمِهِ، وَأَمَّا بَيْعَةُ الرِّضْوَانِ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدًا أَوْثَقُ فِي نَفْسِهِ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ لَبَعَثَهُ، وَكَانَتِ الْبَيْعَةُ وَعُثْمَانُ غَائِبٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَدِي هَذِهِ لِعُثْمَانَ فَضَرَبَ بِإِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى، وَأَمَّا تَوَلِّيهِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ؛ فَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ اللهَ ﷿ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ، اذْهَبْ بِهَذَا مَعَكَ».
#2070 2070 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Awanah and Shayban narrated to us, from 'Uthman ibn 'Abdullah ibn Mawhab, from Ibn 'Umar, that he said to a man: "As for your question to me: Did 'Uthman witness Badr? He was occupied with the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (saw), so the Messenger of Allah (saw) assigned him his share. As for the Pledge of Ridwan, the Messenger of Allah (saw) sent him to the people of Makkah, and if there were anyone more reliable in his soul than 'Uthman, he would have sent him. The pledge took place while 'Uthman was absent, so the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'This hand of mine is for 'Uthman,' and he struck one of his hands against the other. As for his turning away on the day the two hosts met; I bear witness that Allah (azwj) has forgiven him. Go with this with you."

2070 - Na ka treguar Ebu Davudi, i cili ka thënë: Na ka treguar Ebu Avane dhe Shejbani, nga Uthman bin Abdilah bin Mevhebi, nga Ibn Umeri, se ai i tha një burri: "Sa i përket asaj që më pyete: A ishte i pranishëm Uthmani në Bedër? Ai ishte i zënë me vajzën e Pejgamberit (s.a.v.s.), andaj Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) i ndau pjesën e tij (nga plaçka e luftës).

Sa i përket Besëlidhjes së Ridvanit, Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) e kishte dërguar atë te banorët e Mekës, dhe sikur të kishte dikë tjetër më të besueshëm në veten e tij sesa Uthmani, do ta dërgonte atë. Besëlidhja u bë kur Uthmani ishte i munguar, andaj Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) tha: 'Kjo dora ime është për Uthmanin', dhe goditi me njërën dorë mbi tjetrën.

Ndërsa për largimin e tij ditën kur u ndeshën dy ushtritë (në Uhud), dëshmoj se Allahu i Madhëruar e ka falur atë. Shko me këtë (përgjigje) me vete."
