#2734 2734 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, he said: Habib bin Yazid al-Anmati narrated to us, he said: 'Amr bin Harim narrated to us, he said: Jabir bin Zayd was asked about the prayer and its timings, so he said: Ibn 'Abbas used to say: 'The time for the Subh (dawn) prayer is from the break of dawn until the rays of the sun appear. So whoever is heedless of it, let him not pray until it rises and its horns (rays) have passed. For the Messenger of Allah (saw) traveled by night and then stopped for rest at the end of the night, and he did not wake up until the sun or part of it had risen, so he did not pray until it had ascended.'"
