#59 'Ubaydullah ibn Musa informed us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Salama ibn Kuhayl, from Kurayb, from Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: I asked Maymunah, my maternal aunt, about the ritual bath (ghusl) of the Prophet (pbuh) from major ritual impurity (janabah). She said: "A vessel would be brought to him, and he would pour [water] with his right hand over his left, then he would wash his private parts and whatever had been affected. Then he would perform his ablution (wudu) as he did for prayer, then wash his head and the rest of his body. Then he would move from his position and wash his feet. Then a towel would be brought and he would place it before him, but he would shake the water off his fingers and would not touch it."
