#123 Hashim ibn al-Qasim informed us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: I asked Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim about the woman suffering from prolonged vaginal bleeding (istihadah), and he informed me, from his father, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): that a woman suffered from prolonged bleeding during the time of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) and she was commanded—he [Shu'bah] said: I said to Abd al-Rahman, "Did the Prophet (pbuh) command her?" He replied, "I am not narrating anything to you from the Prophet (pbuh)." He said: "She was commanded to delay the Dhuhr prayer and hasten the Asr prayer, and to perform a ritual bath (ghusl) for both of them; and to delay the Maghrib prayer and hasten the Isha prayer, and to perform a ritual bath for both of them; and to perform a ritual bath for the Subh prayer."
