#128 Suleiman bin Dawud al-Hashimi informed us, Ibrahim—meaning Ibn Sa'd—narrated to us, from Az-Zuhri, from 'Amrah bint 'Abd al-Rahman bin Sa'd bin Zurarah, that she heard 'A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet (pbuh), say: Umm Habibah bint Jahsh came to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), and she had been suffering from chronic vaginal bleeding for seven years, so she complained about that to him and sought a legal ruling from him concerning it. He said to her: "This is not menstruation; rather, it is only a vein, so perform a ritual bath and then pray." 'A'ishah said: "And Umm Habibah used to perform a ritual bath for every prayer and then pray; she would sit in a wash-basin, and the redness of the blood would rise above the water, then she would pray."
