Al-Hakam ibn al-Mubarak and Abu Nu'aym informed us, from Sharik, from Abd al-Karim al-Jazari, from Abu Ubaydah, who said: "The person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) passes through the mosque and does not sit in it." Then he recited this verse: "...nor while in a state of ritual impurity (janaba), except those passing through a way..." (Surah An-Nisa, Verse 43).
