أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نُعَيْمٍ الْمُجْمِرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ الَّذِي كَانَ أُرِيَ النِّدَاءَ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، قَالَ : أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَلَسَ مَعَنَا فِي مَجْلِسِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ بَشِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ : أَمَرَنَا اللَّهُ أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ : فَصَمَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى تَمَنَّيْنَا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " قُولُوا :اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، فِي الْعَالَمِينَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، وَالسَّلَامُ كَمَا قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ "
#664 Ubayd Allah bin Abd al-Majid informed us, Malik narrated to us, from Nu'aym al-Mujmir, the freed slave of Umar bin al-Khattab, that Muhammad bin Abd Allah bin Zayd al-Ansari—who was shown the call to prayer in a vision during the time of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)—informed him that Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) came to us and sat with us in the assembly of Sa'd bin Ubadah. Bashir bin Sa'd, who was the father of al-Nu'man bin Bashir, said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, Allah has commanded us to send blessings upon you; so how should we send blessings upon you?" He said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) remained silent until we wished that he had not asked him. Then he said: "Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim; and bestow barakah upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You bestowed barakah upon the family of Ibrahim, among the worlds; indeed You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. And the greeting is as you have already learned."

I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) erdhi tek ne dhe u ul me ne në tubimin e Sa'd b. Ubades. Atëherë Beshir b. Sa'di i tha: "O i Dërguari i Allahut, Allahu na ka urdhëruar të dërgojmë salavate mbi ty, po si të dërgojmë salavate mbi ty?" I Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) heshti aq gjatë saqë ne dëshiruam që ai të mos e kishte pyetur fare. Pastaj ai tha: "Thuani: O Allah, bekoje Muhamedin dhe familjen e Muhamedit, ashtu siç e bekove Ibrahimin; dhe jepi begati Muhamedit dhe familjes së Muhamedit, ashtu siç i dhe begati familjes së Ibrahimit, në mbarë botët. Vërtet, Ti je i Lavdëruar dhe i Madhëruar. Ndërsa selami është ashtu siç e keni mësuar."
