#674 Al-Hakam ibn Musa informed us, Hiql narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, who said: Hassan ibn Atiyyah narrated to me, who said: Muhammad ibn Abi 'Aishah narrated to me, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: Abu Dharr said: "O Messenger of Allah, the possessors of great wealth have taken the rewards; they pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they have surplus wealth which they give in charity, while we do not have that which we can give in charity." The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "Shall I not teach you words which, if you say them, you will catch up with those who preceded you, and none who come after you will overtake you, except for those who do the same as you have done?" He said: I said: "Of course, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "You glorify Allah (Tasbih) thirty-three times after every prayer, praise Him (Tahmid) thirty-three times, and magnify Him (Takbir) thirty-three times, and conclude it with: 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner; to Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is powerful over all things.'"
