حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَا أَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، إِذْ عَطَسَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ، فَقُلْتُ : يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ، قَالَ : فَحَدَّقَنِي الْقَوْمُ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ، فَقُلْتُ : وَاثُكْلَاهُ ! مَا لَكُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيَّ؟ قَالَ : فَضَرَبَ الْقَوْمُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ عَلَى أَفْخَاذِهِمْ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُمْ يُسْكِتُونَنِي قُلْتُ : مَا لَكُمْ تُسْكِتُونَنِي؟ لَكِنِّي سَكَتُّ.
قَالَ : فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبِأَبِي هُوَ وَأُمِّي، مَا رَأَيْتُ مُعَلِّمًا قَبْلَهُ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ أَحْسَنَ تَعْلِيمًا مِنْهُ، وَاللَّهِ مَا ضَرَبَنِي، وَلَا كَهَرَنِي، وَلَا سَبَّنِي، وَلَكِنْ قَالَ : " إِنَّصَلَاتَنَا هَذِهِ لَا يَصْلُحُ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ مِنْ كَلَامِ النَّاسِ، إِنَّمَا هِيَ التَّسْبِيحُ وَالتَّكْبِيرُ وَتِلَاوَةُ الْقُرْآنِ ".

Abu al-Mughira narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, from Yahya, from Hilal bin Abi Maymunah, from 'Ata bin Yasar, from Mu'awiyah bin al-Hakam al-Sulami, who said: "While I was with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in prayer, a man among the people sneezed, so I said: 'May Allah have mercy on you.' He said: The people stared at me with their eyes, so I said: 'May my mother be bereaved of me! Why are you looking at me?' He said: The people began striking their thighs with their hands. When I saw them silencing me, I said: 'What is the matter with you, silencing me?' but then I became silent. He said: When the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) finished—may my father and mother be sacrificed for him, I have never seen a teacher, before him or after him, better in teaching than him—by Allah, he did not strike me, nor did he rebuke me, nor did he revile me, but he said: 'Indeed, this prayer of ours, nothing of the speech of people is suitable in it; it is only glorification (Tasbih), magnification (Takbir), and the recitation of the Quran.' Sadaqah narrated to us, Ibn 'Ulayyah and Yahya bin Sa'id informed us, from Hajjaj al-Sawwaf, from Yahya, from Hilal, from 'Ata, from Mu'awiyah, with a similar narration."

Transmeton Muavije bin el-Hakem es-Sulemi: Ndërsa isha në namaz me të Dërguarin e Allahut (s.a.v.s.), një burrë nga njerëzit teshtiu e unë i thashë: "Allahu të mëshiroftë!" Atëherë njerëzit më shikuan me vërejtje, ndërsa unë thashë: "Mjerë unë! Çfarë keni që më shikoni?" Ata filluan të godasin kofshët e tyre me duar dhe kur e pashë se po më heshtnin, unë heshta. Kur i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) e përfundoi namazin – për babanë e nënën time, nuk kam parë mësues më të mirë se ai as para e as pas tij – pasha Allahun, ai as nuk më goditi, as nuk më qortoi e as nuk më ofendoi, por më tha: "Në këtë namazin tonë nuk lejohet asgjë nga fjalët e njerëzve; ai është vetëm tesbih, tekbir dhe lexim i Kuranit."
