حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، أَنَّ مَوْلَى قُدَامَةَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ مَوْلَى أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، قَالَ : كَانَ أُسَامَةُ يَرْكَبُ إِلَى مَالٍ لَهُ بِوَادِي الْقُرَى، فَيَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : لِمَ تَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ فِي السَّفَرِ وَقَدْ كَبِرْتَ وَضَعُفْتَ أَوْ رَقِقْتَ؟ فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّأَعْمَالَ النَّاسِ تُعْرَضُ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ "
#1054 Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, Hisham narrated to us, from Yahya, from 'Umar ibn al-Hakam ibn Thawban, that the freed slave of Qudamah ibn Maz'un narrated to him, that the freed slave of Usamah narrated to him, who said: Usamah used to ride to a property of his in Wadi al-Qura, and he would fast on Monday and Thursday while on the journey. I said to him, "Why do you fast on Monday and Thursday while traveling, when you have grown old and become weak or frail?" He said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to fast on Monday and Thursday, and he said: 'The deeds of people are presented on Monday and Thursday.'"
