#1522 Mu'alla ibn Asad narrated to me, he said: Wuhaib narrated to us, on the authority of Dawud ibn Abi Hind, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abi Musa, on the authority of a man from the Ansar named Ziyad, who said: I said to Ubayy ibn Ka'b: "What is your view if the wives of the Prophet (pbuh) died, would it have been lawful for him to marry?" He replied: "Yes, for Allah only made lawful for him a certain category of women and defined for him a specific description," then he said: "'Not lawful for you are [other] women hereafter,' meaning: after this description."
