Hadith #1689 - Sunan ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، هُوَ : التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْغَزْوُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْبَطْنُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهَادَةٌ "

#1689 Yazid bin Harun reported to us, Sulayman—he is al-Taymi—reported to us, from Abu 'Uthman, from 'Amir bin Malik, from Safwan bin Umayyah, from the Prophet (pbuh), who said: "The plague is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, military expedition is martyrdom, abdominal illness is martyrdom, and the woman who dies in childbirth is martyrdom."
