أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ عَامَ فُتِحَتْ مَكَّةُ ، قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَبَسَ عَنْ مَكَّةَ الْفِيلَ، وَسَلَّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَلَا وَإِنَّهَا لَمْ تَحِلَّ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلِي وَلَا تَحِلُّ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدِي، أَلَا وَإِنَّهَا سَاعَتِي هَذِهِ حَرَامٌ لَا يُخْتَلَى خَلَاهَا، وَلَا يُعْضَدُ شَجَرُهَا وَلَا تُلْتَقَطُ سَاقِطَتُهَا إِلَّا لِمُنْشِدٍ "
#1871 Mu’adh bin Hani’, from the people of Basra, informed us: Harb bin Shaddad narrated to us: Yahya bin Abi Kathir narrated to us: Abu Salamah narrated to us: Abu Hurayrah narrated to us that in the year of the conquest of Mecca, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stood and said: "Indeed, Allah withheld the elephant from Mecca and gave the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) and the believers authority over them. Behold, it was not made lawful for anyone before me, nor shall it be made lawful for anyone after me. Behold, it is sacred at this very hour of mine; its fresh herbage shall not be uprooted, its trees shall not be cut, and its lost property shall not be picked up except by one who publicly announces it."

Transmeton Ebu Hurejre: Në vitin e çlirimit të Mekës, i Dërguari i Allahut (s.a.v.s.) u ngrit dhe tha: "Vërtet, Allahu e ndaloi elefantin nga Meka dhe i dha pushtet të Dërguarit të Tij (s.a.v.s.) dhe besimtarëve mbi të. Vini re, ajo nuk ka qenë e lejuar për askënd para meje dhe nuk do të jetë e lejuar për askënd pas meje. Vini re, në këtë çast ajo është e shenjtë; nuk guxon të këputet bari i saj, nuk guxojnë të priten pemët e saj dhe nuk lejohet të merret gjëja e humbur, përveçse nga ai që dëshiron ta shpallë atë (për ta gjetur pronarin)."
