أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ، قَالَ : جَلَسَ عِنْدَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفَخِذِي مُنْكَشِفَةٌ، فَقَالَ :" خَمِّرْ عَلَيْكَ، أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ؟ "

Al-Hakam bin al-Mubarak informed us, Malik informed us, from Abu al-Nadr, from Zur'ah bin 'Abd al-Rahman, from his father—and he was among the people of al-Suffah—who said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) sat with us while my thigh was exposed. He said: "Cover it up; do you not know that the thigh is 'awrah?"
