Hadith #1982 - Sunan ad-Darimi

أَخْبَرَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ : مَا الْغِيبَةُ؟. قَالَ : " ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ ". قِيلَ : وَإِنْ كَانَ فِي أَخِي مَا أَقُولُ؟. قَالَ :" فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ، فَقَدْ اغْتَبْتَهُ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ، فَقَدْ بَهَتَّهُ "

#1982 Nu'aym ibn Hammad informed us, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muhammad, from al-'Ala', from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (pbuh) that it was said to him: "What is backbiting?" He said: "Your mentioning your brother with that which he dislikes." It was said: "What if what I say is actually in my brother?" He said: "If it is in him, then you have backbitten him, and if it is not in him, then you have slandered him."

Transmeton Ebu Hurejra se Pejgamberi (s.a.v.s.) u pyet: "Çfarë është përgojimi?"
Ai tha: "Të përmendësh vëllain tënd me diçka që ai e urren."
U tha: "Po nëse vëllai im e ka atë që po them?"
Ai tha: "Nëse ai e ka atë që thua, atëherë e ke përgojuar, e nëse nuk e ka, atëherë e ke shpifur atë."
