#1983 Usman bin Muhammad informed us, Jarir narrated to us, from Idris al-Awdi, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, that Abdullah attributed the hadith to the Prophet (pbuh), who said: "Indeed, the worst of narrations are the narrations of falsehood. Lying is not appropriate, whether in seriousness or in jest. Nor should a man make a promise to his son and then not fulfill it for him. Verily, truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. Indeed, falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. It is said of the truthful person: 'He has spoken the truth and acted righteously,' and it is said of the liar: 'He has lied and acted wickedly.' A man continues to be truthful until he is recorded with Allah as a man of truth, and he continues to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a liar." And he said to us: "Shall I inform you what Al-Adh is? Indeed, Al-Adh is tale-bearing which sows corruption between people."
