#2049 Abu Nu’aym informed us, Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Asim, from Mus’ab bin Sa’d, from Sa’d, who said: The Prophet (pbuh) was asked: "Which of the people are most severely tested?" He said: "The Prophets, then those most like them, then those most like them. A man is tested according to his religion; if there is firmness in his religion, his trial is increased in firmness, and if there is weakness in his religion, it is lightened for him. Affliction continues to befall the servant until he walks upon the earth having no sin."
