حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ :" أَوَّلُ جَدٍّ وَرِثَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ عُمَر، فَأَخَذَ مَالَهُ، فَأَتَاهُ عَلِيٌّ ، وَزَيْدٌ ، فَقَالَا : لَيْسَ لَكَ ذَاكَ، إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ كَأَحَدِ الْأَخَوَيْنِ "
#2175 Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Hasan narrated to us, from 'Asim, from al-Sha'bi, who said: "The first grandfather to inherit in Islam was 'Umar, so he took his [the deceased's] wealth. Then 'Ali and Zayd came to him and said: 'That is not for you; you are only as one of the two brothers.'"
