Hadith #2359 - Sunan ad-Darimi

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ قَوْلُ مَنْ يَقُولُ فِي الْحَمِيلِ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ :" قَدْ تَوَارَثَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ، وَالْأَنْصَارُ بِنَسَبِهِمْ الَّذِي كَانَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ "

#2359 Sa'id ibn al-Mughira narrated to us, he said: Ibn al-Mubarak said: Ibn 'Awn narrated to us, from Muhammad, who said: The opinion of those who speak regarding the hamil (a person of uncertain or claimed lineage) was mentioned in his presence, so he rejected that and said: "The Emigrants and the Helpers inherited from one another according to their lineage that existed in the Pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah)."
