#2767 Muhammad ibn Yazid al-Hizami informed us, Ishaq ibn Sulayman narrated to us, on the authority of 'Amr ibn Abi Qays, on the authority of 'Ata', on the authority of 'Amir, who said: There was a man from among the companions of the Prophet (pbuh) who had a need with him, so he walked with him until he entered. He said: One of his feet was inside the house and the other was outside, as if he were in a private conversation. Then he turned and said: "Do you know whom I was speaking to? This is an angel I have never seen before this day of mine; he sought permission from his Lord to greet me with peace." He said: "Indeed, We have given you—or We have sent down—the Quran as a distinction, tranquility as patience, and the Criterion as a connection."
