#2787 Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Numayr informed us, Abu al-Jawab narrated to us, from ‘Ammar ibn Ruzayq, from al-A‘mash, from Ibrahim, from ‘Alqama, from ‘Abd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "The earth shook during the time of ‘Abd Allah, and when he was informed of that, he said: 'Indeed, we, the companions of Muhammad (pbuh), used to regard signs as blessings, while you regard them as a means of striking fear. Once, while we were with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) on a journey, the time for prayer arrived and we had only a little water. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) called for some water in a bowl and placed his palm in it, and water began to gush forth from between his fingers. Then he called out: "Come to the ablution, and the blessing is from Allah."' He said: 'So the people approached and performed ablution, and I had no concern except for what I could put into my stomach due to his saying: "And the blessing is from Allah."' I narrated this to Salim ibn Abi al-Ja‘d, and he said: 'They were fifteen hundred.'"
