أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ، فَمَسَحَهُ "
#2788 Uthman ibn Umar informed us, Mu'adh ibn al-Ala informed us, on the authority of Nafi', on the authority of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to deliver the sermon leaning against a tree trunk; then when he took to using the pulpit, the trunk moaned until he came to it and stroked it.
