#2893 Yusuf bin Ya'qub al-Saffar narrated to us, Abu Bakr narrated to us, from Dawud, who said: I asked al-Sha'bi, "How did you used to act when you were asked [for a legal verdict]?" He said: "You have come to the one well-acquainted with the matter. When a man was asked, he would say to his companion, 'Give them the legal verdict,' and it would continue [being passed from one to another] until it returned to the first one."
