#2973 Muhammad ibn ‘Uyaynah informed us, ‘Ali—he is Ibn Mushir—informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Sha‘bi, from Ziyad ibn Hudayr, who said: ‘Umar said to me: "Do you know what destroys Islam?" I said: "No." He said: "It is destroyed by the slip of the scholar, the argumentation of the hypocrite with the Book, and the rule of the misguiding leaders."
