أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ الْأَسْوَدُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ مُنَبِّهٍ :" كَانَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِيمَا مَضَى يَضَنُّونَ بِعِلْمِهِمْ عَنْ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا، فَيَرْغَبُ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا فِي عِلْمِهِمْ، فَيَبْذُلُونَ لَهُمْ دُنْيَاهُمْ، وَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الْعِلْمِ الْيَوْمَ بَذَلُوا عِلْمَهُمْ لِأَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا، فَزَهِدَ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا فِي عِلْمِهِمْ، فَضَنُّوا عَلَيْهِمْ بِدُنْيَاهُمْ "
#3403 Ya'qub bin Ibrahim informed us, Rawh narrated to us, Hajjaj al-Aswad narrated to us, he said: Ibn Munabbih said: "The people of knowledge in the past used to be protective of their knowledge from the people of worldly affairs, so the people of worldly affairs would desire their knowledge and bestow their worldly wealth upon them. But indeed, the people of knowledge today have offered their knowledge to the people of worldly affairs, so the people of worldly affairs have become indifferent to their knowledge and have withheld their worldly wealth from them."

Transmeton Ibn Munabbihu: Në të kaluarën, njerëzit e dijes e ruanin me xhelozi dijen e tyre nga njerëzit e dunjasë, andaj njerëzit e dunjasë e lakmonin dijen e tyre dhe u ofronin atyre dunjanë e tyre. Ndërsa sot, njerëzit e dijes ua ofrojnë dijen e tyre njerëzve të dunjasë, andaj njerëzit e dunjasë nuk shfaqin më interes për dijen e tyre dhe po ua kursejnë atyre dunjanë e tyre.
